Let’s Be Nice to the Ocean coordinator Rémi Parmentier participated last week in Le Forum Mondial de la Mer in Bizerte, Tunisia, dedicated this year to the Mediterranean Sea in the context of next year’s 3rd UN Ocean Conference in Nice.

The Barcelona Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean, the first Regional Seas treaty ever adopted under the aegis of the UN Environment Programme, was incorporated in 1975. Fifty years later, what hope, what ideas are there, to bring the Barcelona Convention into the 21st Century?
